On January 12, 2020 a 21 year-old openly-gay conservative by the name of Wilson Gavin led an organised demonstration at the Brisbane State Library protesting an event called ‘Drag Queen Story Time’.
The event was co-run by the Brisbane City Council and Rainbow Families QLD —an organisation that “represents LGBTQIA families and prospective families in Queensland”.
It involved two drag queens reading to and entertaining young children.
