Artificial Intelligence: Where Science Fiction Meets Reality

Growing up in post-war London, the constant threat of nuclear disaster loomed over society. Science fiction offered an escape into alternate worlds, many of which have since materialised into reality. However, as technology advances at an unprecedented pace, a new potential threat emerges – the interaction of artificial intelligence (AI) with humanity.

Uncertainty pervades discussions about the future of AI. On one hand, concerns about surveillance and control abound, whilst on the other, there is a fear that Australia might lag in the technology race, succumbing to the "fear of missing out" (FOMO) moment.
