Are You Addicted To Twitter? The 10 Key Signs To Watch Out For
Seeing one of my well-crafted Tweets receive thousands of likes, shares, and millions of impressions was an exciting experience.

I’m convinced that prolonged Twitter usage is bad for the soul.
It seems obvious, right? But, how many of us are willing to acknowledge it?
After various trials and errors, I eventually had an epiphany regarding just how bad Twitter was.
My journey of self-reflection revealed that the more immersed I became in the Twitterverse, the more I sensed a gradual erosion of my inner peace, genuine human connections, and the ability to appreciate the beauty and authenticity of life beyond the confines of the digital realm.
The great irony lies in the paradoxical nature of identifying ourselves as “truth seekers”, delving into deep philosophical concepts like red and blue pills, the Great Awakening, and the idea of a simulated reality.
Many of us like to think we are on the front lines of some kind of information war.
Despite exploring these ideas and questioning the nature of reality, we fail to recognise that our excessive reliance on Twitter, is, in a way, keeping us trapped within the Matrix and hindering our ability to fully experience and engage with the tangible reality around us.
We unwittingly become disconnected from the authentic human experiences that lie beyond the confines of our screens, rendering our pursuit of enlightenment incomplete, and our souls confined within the virtual realm.
In essence, our preoccupation with Twitter, or the internet in general, is ironically preventing us from achieving the true awakening and understanding we seek and deserve.
Twitter, in my own experience, proved to be a powerful tool for instantaneously communicating with a massive number of people.
Seeing one of my well-crafted Tweets receive thousands of likes, shares, and millions of impressions was an exciting experience.
Most importantly it signified that I’d uttered something of value. I’d conveyed a message that resonated with others and surpassed the constant deluge of content.
But I became addicted to chasing those likes and retweets.
I found myself trapped inside an echo chamber of fellow junkies who spent their day wandering the digital streets of Twitter, relentlessly chasing the feeling of that first hit.
The drug of validation and recognition in the form of likes and retweets started to overshadow the genuine purpose of my reason for Tweeting.
The pressure to maintain a certain persona and attract attention began to erode the authenticity of my voice, leaving me feeling disconnected from my true self.
I realised I needed to break free from this addiction and rediscover the joy of genuine, meaningful communication with others, even if it meant going cold turkey from the little blue bird. So I was became a Qwitter.
Consciously, I opted to flee the relentless cycle of seeking virtual validation and unchain myself from mindlessly scrolling over content that only elicited feelings of anger or despair.
I redirected my energy towards nurturing real-life experiences and fostering genuine connections with the people and activities that truly enriched my life.
I can now write with a clear head, free from bias and unwanted emotions. This newfound clarity has empowered me to express my thoughts and ideas authentically and objectively.
As my mind finds solace in its unburdened state, I can approach writing tasks with a renewed sense of focus, allowing for a deeper exploration of subjects and a more compelling presentation of my ideas.
By recognising and overcoming the pitfalls of Twitter addiction, we can all open the gateway to sharpening our critical thinking skills, empowering ourselves to becoming better individuals capable of discerning information, fostering thoughtful discussions, and cultivating a more informed, empathetic, and wise society.
Presented below are 10 crucial signs to watch out for, aiding in the identification and resolution of Twitter addiction, empowering you to proactively embrace a healthier and more balanced online life.
